Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened and do not be dismayed. For the lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
I am sure you have been frightened or afraid before..we all can become afraid when we try something new or don’t see a solution or wake up from a bad dream. But this verse is telling us not to be afraid. God is with us. Sometimes it is easy to forget that God is with us, isn’t it? Sometimes we think that he has totally abandoned us, left us to deal with life on our own. In the times that I have felt like God is nowhere to be found, I simply look back over the years. God has never let me be homeless, although I came very close one time. But he didn’t fail to provide a place to go. He has never let me go hungry, ever. He has always provided clothes for me to wear. He has taken care of me in times that I couldn’t even take care of myself. Now I may not have been walking with the lord in different times of my life and so I might have felt like he abandoned me in those times, but it was the other way around. I abandoned him. But he still never failed to take care of my basic needs. So you see? We can trust God. We can put our faith in him. He is always with us wherever we go. We might not be able to see him with our human eyes. We might not be able to feel him with our human emotions. We might not be able to touch him with our human hands. But all you have to do is choose to have faith despite all of those things. Choose to have faith when the enemy wants you to doubt. Because the enemy would like nothing more to see you doubt God and then walk away. But don’t let the enemy win. Fight the good fight! God is with you. He is calling you to himself. Go to a quiet place. Turn off the music. Turn off the noise. Get the word of God out….and pray. God loves you and wants to spend time with you. He promises to never leave you or forsake you. He is with you.
